SDRP Stage 1 Round 2 Payment Expected — SDRP Stage 2 Sign-Up Deadline Extended to August 12
Posted April 24, 2026
On April 24, 2026, the U.S. Department of Agriculture announced a second Supplemental Disaster Relief Program (SDRP) payment for producers with approved applications for crop, tree, bush, and vine losses in 2023 and 2024. The payment factor was raised from 35% to 70%, and the application deadline was extended from April 30 to August 12, 2026 for both Stage 1 and Stage 2.
What Changed
- Payment factor doubled: 35% → 70% (eligible producers receive an additional 35% of their calculated payment, both stages)
- Top-up payments are expected to begin arriving in early May 2026
- Application deadline for Stage 1 and Stage 2 extended to August 12, 2026
- Future SDRP payments will use the 70% factor
What This Means by Stage
Stage 1 — already-applied producers (most common case)
- If you received a Stage 1 payment, the additional 35% top-up should arrive automatically. No new application needed.
- Pre-filled Stage 1 applications were mailed by FSA in July 2025. If you received one but never returned it, the August 12 extension gives you time to get it in.
Stage 2 — where the August 12 deadline matters most
- Stage 2 applications opened November 24, 2025.
- Covers shallow losses, uncovered/uninsured losses, and quality losses not paid under Stage 1.
- If you have qualifying 2023–2024 losses that didn't trigger insurance or NAP, you must apply by August 12, 2026.
Qualifying Disasters (2023–2024)
Wildfires, floods, hail, derechos, tornadoes, winter storms, freeze (including polar vortex), excessive heat, smoke exposure, excessive moisture, and qualifying drought (D2 for 8+ consecutive weeks, or D3+).
